Telrad Conferencing Release 4.0: Cost-effective, application-rich conferencing
Lod, Israel, March 15, 2007: Telrad Networks announced the release of version 4.0 of its conferencing appliance, which allows adding conferencing to any enterprise PBX at a one-time cost. The release includes a rich set of applications, including integration to Mircrosoft Outlook, outbound and inbound dialing, web sharing, and moderator control.Rather than using pay-as-you-go services on an outsourced level, the Telrad Conferencing appliance has no operating expenses, and can be integrated with practically any enterprise PBX. Small and mid-sized enterprises can use the Telrad Conferencing platform as an economical and easy-to-use platform for all their conferencing needs.
“Enterprise conferencing is an essential application today,” said Meir Bass, CTO of Telrad Networks. “However, using subscription services such as web conferencing can lead to high and unpredictable costs. Furthermore, web conferencing lacks calling out features and integration with scheduling applications such as Microsoft Outlook. Telrad Conferencing is so simple to use, everyone in the organization can schedule a fully-featured conference call.”
Even for companies conducting fewer than 20 conferences a month, the break-even point for the Telrad Conferencing appliance is less than one year. With added security and ease-of-use, the investment is even more worthwhile. Telrad Conferencing features:
- Available in 12– 64 port configurations
- Fully interoperable and standard compliant
- PRI E1/T1 support
- H.323 signaling support
- 60 simultaneous E1 conference attendees per unit
- 64 simultaneous VoIP conference attendees per unit
- 46 simultaneous T1 conference attendees per unit
- Additional units for scale-up capabilities
- Outbound dialing
- Multi-language and localization capabilities
- Real-time chairperson controls

Wainhouse Research WebMetrics Finds Users Planning to Increase Web Conferencing and Audio Usage in 2005
Three out of four WebMetrics panelists (75.5%) anticipate increased web conferencing minutesJanuary 11, 2005, Brookline MA - In the latest report from Wainhouse Research’s quarterly quarterly WebMetrics research program, the majority of respondents indicated that audio and web conferencing minutes will increase over the next 12 months. A full 64.2% expect their organizations to increase (at varying levels discussed in the research) their audio minutes, and 75.5% expect to increase their web conferencing minutes. At the same time, even with the majority of organizations expecting to increase their web conferencing usage, 35.4% stated that they expect to pay the same or less over the same time period.
In a survey of the WebMetrics Panel conducted online in December, 2004, Wainhouse Research heard from 196 buyers and users of web conferencing on their deployment behavior, purchasing criteria, and use of consultants. Survey responses demonstrate where purchasing behavior resides (centralized or non-centralized); how certain primary and secondary vendors are used for various applications; the relative importance of various criteria in vendor selection; location of web conferencing servers; and channel preferences.
"We found that certain ranges of increased usage of audio and web conferencing can be anticipated, suggesting that there remains substantial room for growth within existing large enterprises as well as small-to-medium enterprises, " said Alan Greenberg, Senior Analyst & Consultant with Wainhouse Research. "Not a lot of organizations expect massive increases, but the numbers do point to steady growth. Less surprising is that users expect to pay the same or less over the coming year for web conferencing, showing that services are likely to continue to suffer per-minute or per-user price erosion."
Minute usage on an application basis is surprisingly uniform - no single application stands out as the major consumer of minutes. Sales Training and Internal Teams are the two applications leading the pack. The report details how various vendors such as Microsoft, WebEx, Centra, Cisco, Oracle, and others are used as primary or secondary vendors for certain applications.
The survey found that the business model for the largest vendors has begun to shift significantly from self hosted and ASP-hosted models towards Managed Services.
The WebMetrics Q4 2004 Report is designed to provide a better understanding of web conferencing deployment behavior, purchasing criteria, and channel preferences. An annual subscription for the report series is available as well as copies of each individual quarterly report.
End users who participate in the surveys receive a high-level summary of the findings and qualify for prize drawings. For more information about the survey series and to participate in future WebMetrics surveys, visit www.wainhouse.com/webmetrics.
